Decca

Decca was a Low-Frequency hyperbolic navigation aid used by shipping (and, at one time, aircraft).

The definitive online work on this subject is Jerry Proc's Web Site.

Personally, I met two Decca Stations, one in Current State:
There are no surviving Decca sites in the UK to my knowledge. I knew of two:

Burton Fleming, East Yorkshire.
This was the purple slave to the Northumbrian Decca Chain (2A), and was located at 54.133° N, 00.317° W

Site Name: Burton Fleming Decca
Antenna: 30m triangular lattice guyed mast OS Grid Ref: TA103722
Current status: I visited the site in August 2001 as demolition work was being done. Currently, there is nothing left, the field being returned to agriculture.

The second site was on the Norfolk coast and was believed to be the red slave to the English Chain 5B. More research is currently being done on this.
