Rugby Radio Station

This famous site (see the web links below for details and pictures) is currently being demolished and the land is earmarked for development. Below are some pictures that I took in May 2002. By this time, the antenna wires (or more accurately, wire 'sausages') had been removed leaving just the support masts standing. Similarly, the overhead twin feeders have been removed leaving just their support poles and gantries- except for the biconical antennas at the north end of the site. The last HF transmissions from Rugby were to aircraft as BT had a contract for this, it may be that these antennas were used for this so were left alone.
